A fast-growing technology firm needed an office that could draw Silicon Valley talent. For us, it was the ultimate tenant improvement project because their vision was clear, and their tastes were impeccable.

Every room, each piece of furniture, and all of decorative features had a specific purpose in the overall concept. Here’s is the result of our collaboration with the gifted team at TrainerRoad.

I wanted to create an amazing office. Jim helped me achieve my vision. He also elaborated on it and made it better–all of the while keeping within my budget and timeline.

The Entranceway

We wanted guests to have a first impression they wouldn’t forget. A timber wall with staggered pine boards contrasts perfectly with the modernity of the TrainerRoad logo and colors.

A nearly half-ton custom desk made of a quartz block and cold rolled steel rests on polished concrete flooring providing for a warm reception. A playful coat rack makes for the perfect place for hats and hoodies.

Competing in a dot-com world requires collaboration, innovation and top-flight talent. Who wouldn’t want to work in this creative space? The room features a designer carpet which transitions from black to gray and the furniture offers tasteful accents of color.

A half-inch thick frosted glass room divider and wall-mounted greenery keep the room bright and fresh to spur on creativity.

The Breakroom

After making pixels dance, customers thrilled and having sorted through thousands of lines of code, everyone deserves a little break. A butcher block table with tapered foam seats adorned with honeycomb patterns offers both a respite and batch of new ideas. The comfort of the raised booth is matched only by the brightness of the kitchen area, where quartz counter tops, Kitchen Aid appliances and connoisseur coffee refresh the spirits.

The Shower

The team at TrainerRoad develop world-class software for bicycle enthusiasts and professionals. They practice what they program, with much of the staff taking a cycle break midway through their day, which makes the shower an essential part of the building. The black slate, white granite and glass divider accents of this room provides for both functionality and form.

Collaborative Workstations

As TrainerRoad scales up operations, they wanted a space that would be conducive for excellent communication and a vibrant sharing of ideas. This was accomplished through well-designed open spaces, the natural lighting provided by Solar Tubes and properly spaced furnishings.

Part of the TrainerRoad mission is providing top-level fitness instruction to its customers. This promotion of well-being is embedded in the culture of the company, which is why having a gym was such an important part of the design. With this beautifully designed room full of weights and equipment, the staff is sure to be at peak performance.

Smart Rooms

Spacious conference rooms. Training areas. Technology testing centers. Private offices. For each unique function requirement, care and precision was put into the design and building process of each specialized room.

Bicycle Theme

Brand is always an important aspect of any tenant improvement project. For TrainerRoad, this meant chandeliers custom-designed from bicycle parts, wall sculptures made of spokes and even hallways designed for riding a bike.
